The Santa Pola Local Police responded to a traffic collision in which a car collided with a traffic light at a major pedestrian crossing. Fortunately, no one was injured, but there was some property damage.
The event occurred in the early morning hours of Thursday May 22nd, when the vehicle crashed with a traffic light. The images published by the police force show the significant damage to the front of the vehicle involved, as well as the activity of authorities on scene.
After arriving at the site, the Traffic Judicial Police took responsibility of the investigation and determined that the driver had tested positive for alcohol, thus the case was referred to the appropriate court for legal procedures.
The Local Police have warned everyone that “traffic lights can be reset, but people cannot,” referring to the perils of driving under the influence of alcohol, particularly in urban locations with high pedestrian traffic.
