Yesterday morning, May 27th, the Salvamar Leo Maritime Rescue vessel removed an ill crew member from a boat that was travelling fifteen miles off Torrevieja.
The crew member was onboard the fisheries and oceanographic research vessel “Miguel Oliver,” from which the emergency warning was issued after the man had kidney colic.
The Salvamar Leo has set sail from its base in Alicante, following the coordinates provided by the General Secretariat of Fisheries’ fisheries and oceanographic research vessels.
Once onboard the Maritime Rescue vessel, the ailing crew member was transported to the port of Torrevieja, where he was picked up by an ambulance and sent to hospital.
