The National Police have arrested a 43-year-old teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting and harassing a 17-year-old student at a private school in Alicante.
The arrest occurred a few days ago, but the teacher was released pending a court summons after appearing at the Provincial Police Station. The Alicante duty court granted a restraining order on Wednesday, May 28th, at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, forbidding the teacher from approaching the complainant.
According to Ministry of Education sources, the school began an investigation into the teacher and terminated his contract the day following the reported instances.
The minor’s mother filed the complaint, and the victim claims that the teacher kissed the girl without her consent. According to the National Police, the victim got messages and propositions from the teacher via social media. The teacher ended up kissing the student at school, resulting in the complaint being lodged.
