Elche’s triumph, which secured their promotion, filled the city streets with pleasure and enthusiasm. The little square and surrounding streets were packed with people celebrating the team’s success. Plaça de Baix, in front of Elche City Hall, was another popular gathering spot for hundreds of Elche fans.
The MartĂnez Valero stadium was a highlight, with hundreds of people watching the match from nearby restaurant terraces. The city vibrated with excitement as the party proceeded to the stadium to await the team’s arrival, which was slated for midnight.
Delirium in Riazor
Approximately 2,000 Elche fans who travelled to La Coruña via train, bus, automobile, and plane had a historic day. Chants of “We’re in the First Division” and “We’re in the First Division!” filled the air, reflecting the fans’ delight and pride. Expected to be tense, the match ended in a celebration with an incredible finale.
Elche fans made their presence felt in the city beginning at midday. Supporters of the squad marched through the streets of La Coruña, shouting songs such as “Aromas Ilicitanos”, the club’s unofficial hymn. The rally took place in Plaza Fábrica de Tabacos, from which they marched together to the stadium.
