The Spanish lessons organised by the Pangea Office in l’AlfĂ s del Pi have ended. The Albir Social Centre and the Cultural Centre hosted 220 individuals who successfully completed the lessons. Martina Mertens, Councillor for International Affairs, congratulated everyone and stated that the new courses would commence at the end of September.
The Pangea courses, which were designed with an intercultural view and are now coming to an end, have been subsidised and free for students, according to the councillor, with the goal of fostering social and professional inclusion. “From the council, we will continue offering free Spanish courses,” the representative states, “since learning the language is essential for social integration and access to better job opportunities.”
The Pangea office in l’AlfĂ s del Pi is part of the Valencian Government’s network, which also includes 112 other agencies. The Pangea Network is a tool for coordinating migrant care policy with local governments. Martine Mertens emphasised that personalised care is the main function of this information, counselling, and guidance office for the migrant community, in addition to the ongoing offer of courses and activities aimed at training and integrating residents.
