Officers from the Javea Local Police apprehended a man on May 30th at 11:15 p.m. for an alleged crime against public health while conducting drug-prevention operations on the town’s streets.
Officers conducting citizen security monitoring near Calle Calvario and Ronda Norte noticed a person hurriedly exchange an article with a young man on a bicycle. Both fled the area in opposite ways, but the male, known for previous drug trafficking activities, was identified.
A few minutes later, officers tracked down the same person, who approached a vehicle inhabited by two young males. Following a brief encounter, another exchange of what appeared to be a narcotic drug occurred.
Officers detained the defendant for alleged public health violations based on the repeated instances and evidence gathered. TWe have referred the case to the Guardia Civil for furtherinvestigation and action.
This intervention is one of the preventive measures taken by the municipality’s Local Police to combat drug trade and guarantee public safety.
