The Swedish prosecutor’s office has accused a 16-year-old boy arrested in Alicante last year of ordering other minors to carry out murders in Sweden and Denmark from his family home as part of criminal gang activity in those countries, according to Swedish news agency TT. This Thursday, June 5th, the prosecutor’s office charged the defendant, a Swedish national, with two counts of attempted murder, one count of attempted extortion, and two violations of weapons law.
He is also under investigation for alleged murder and extortion operations that began when he was under the age of 15. In contrast, his father and stepmother, who were also arrested in Alicante on November 20th by the National authorities in coordination with Swedish and Danish authorities, are only charged with narcotics possession.
Prosecutor Anna Arnell claims that in the spring and summer of 2024, the juvenile used various social media sites to attract other teenagers from Alicante who live in Sweden. “The apps he used—Instagram, Snapchat, Telegram, and Signal—store a large amount of digital data. “That’s where he communicated,” the prosecutor explained.
In one attempted murder, the offender shot at the door of a Stockholm house, while in another, a hired kid shot a man in the leg in Malmö, Sweden. In another example, the arrested child allegedly threatened to blow up the parents of a boy who had failed his mission unless they paid their son’s “debt.” According to the prosecutor, the suspect is affiliated with the organisation managed by criminal kingpin Ismail Abdo.
