According to the Generalitat, telephone calls from the CICU to the relatives of a woman who had suffered a heart attack in her Torrevieja house enabled medical workers to restore vital signs and stabilise the 38-year-old resident.
Early on Sunday morning, June 15th, the Generalitat’s Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU) stepped into action to help a woman in cardiac arrest at her home in Torrevieja. The CICU “immediately mobilised a SAMU unit,” the same sources said in a statement.
Cardiac Massage
While waiting for the ambulance, the CICU nursing team contacted a relative to provide cardiac massage until emergency medical services arrived.
Once on-site, the SAMU medical team administered advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other recovery procedures to the 38-year-old woman until her vital signs were recovered and she was stabilised.
Reserved outlook
After recovering from a heart arrest, the team moved the woman to Torrevieja Hospital, where her prognosis remains unclear.
