Elche has inaugurated a new tourist observation point on Avenida de la Comunidad Valenciana, allowing locals and visitors to snap iconic Elche landmarks as well as the best views of the Palmeral and municipal monuments.
Irene RuÃz, Councillor for Tourism, stated that this perspective intends to boost the city’s tourism appeal, enhance its value, and provide unparalleled views of the Palmeral, Basilica of Santa MarÃa, and Altamira Palace.
As a result, a space has been constructed within the garden, incorporating a platform with a wooden perimeter railing on a concrete structure. The Department of Economic Development spearheaded this project, implementing riverbank employment workshops.
According to RuÃz, “This is the first of many viewpoints that will be located in different parts of the municipality, including in the outlying districts, with the idea of creating a circuit of viewpoints so that tourists and residents of Elche can take home a very special memory of Elche and promote the city.”
Councillor for Economic Development, Samuel RuÃz, emphasised the significance of this tourism effort, stating that it “will showcase Elche and its most beautiful corners.” He therefore applauded the work of the employees at the employment workshops located throughout the area surrounding the riverfront, a site he claimed represented so much to the municipality.
Landscaping and ivy planting will complete this renovation and conceal the slopes. Work is also underway to replace the lights on the slope with sodium vapour and LED illumination.
