The Provincial Police Station says that two people were arrested and 7,200 ecstasy tablets were seized. A traffic sign prevented the perpetrators’ escape.
Two 35-year-old males were arrested for alleged drug trafficking. Officers seized 680 euros, various mobile phones, including a satellite phone used to dodge geolocation, and a self-defence spray, which could have been brought for self-defence.
The event began in the early morning hours, when a police patrol halted the vehicle carrying the two men. They disregarded the instructions and fled at high speed in an attempt to evade the authorities. The other police units were notified, and a lockdown was implemented to prevent their escape and for the safety of pedestrians and motorists.
Accident
During the chase, the vehicle hit with a traffic sign, which rendered it inoperable. The occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled, but authorities apprehended and captured them just a few metres away.

The police say that the vehicle used was a rental car. Inside, authorities discovered a bag containing 7,240 ecstasy tablets, each weighing roughly one and a half kilos. One of those arrested had a criminal record for previous offences. Benidorm’s Investigative Court heard both cases.
The National Police emphasise the need for public assistance in the fight against drug trafficking. Anyone who is aware of this type of behaviour can register a report at a police station or through the channels available at www.policia.es, with complete confidentiality.
