The Guardia Civil arrested four people in Torrevieja, two men and two women, for an alleged crime against public health and receiving stolen goods, following the dismantling of a drug sales point that operated from a house in the town centre.
The Torrevieja Guardia Civil discovered probable drug sales activity in a residential building in early April, thanks to public collaboration. Several reports noted the continual mobility of individuals, consumption in communal areas, and the continued presence of children with the supposed owners of the point of sale.
During the inquiry, police from the Torrevieja Main Inquiry Unit discovered that the suspects frequently left the house with children, possibly using them as a distraction to facilitate quick drug deliveries throughout the complex. In addition to the police inquiry, the incident was reported to the Valencian Government’s social services department for further evaluation and follow-up.
The operation occurred during a surveillance operation when officers intercepted the suspects in the middle of their transaction. After the suspects were arrested, investigators examined the premises and discovered various drugs, including hashish and cocaine base, as well as packaging tools, cash, other criminal items, and a laptop that had been reported stolen in Madrid.
The four detainees, two men and two women of Spanish nationality, aged 41 to 53, were brought before Torrevieja’s Investigating Court number 1, which ordered their release with precautionary measures. They are charged with crimes against public health for drug trafficking and receiving stolen goods and have numerous similar criminal records.
The Guardia Civil has emphasised the importance of citizen participation, which was critical to the start and completion of this investigation.
