A man was arrested after allegedly beating his mother and brother with hammers in Malaga’s La Trinidad neighbourhood.
The incident occurred on Friday, June 20th, about 10:40 a.m. Several people called the Andalusian Emergency Service 112 to report a domestic argument at a home on Calle Don Juan de Austria in the La Trinidad neighbourhood.
The man reportedly went to the family house after buying the hammer he would use to do his crime, albeit this has not been confirmed by authorities. The National Police are investigating the incident as domestic violence by a son against his mother and brother.
The National Police summoned the paramedics to the residence. Both were hurt, but their health status and any information about them has not been published.
The National Police have arrested a man, thought to be 38 years old and of Spanish nationality, on suspicion of attempted murder. The individual appeared to have attempted suicide a few days before, as he displayed signs of autolysis when arrested.
On Thursday, June 19th, Zunilda, a well-known professional bodybuilder, was also discovered dead in Fuengirola. Her spouse murdered her with a hammer. He subsequently ended his own life. Officers discovered him sleeping in a bathtub. This is the second attack using a hammer in less than a week.
