The Guardia Civil has disrupted a criminal cell consisting of six Spanish nationals who committed a violent robbery in December 2024 at a property in the Alicante municipality of San Fulgencio.
A court order has remanded three of the inmates in detention.
The Property Crimes Team of the Organic Judicial Police Unit of the Civil Guard of Alicante launched the investigation on December 18th, 2024, after receiving a complaint from a woman who was abused in her home by numerous hooded individuals.
The victim discovered the assailants messing with the electrical panel in her garage. When they found her, they pounced, knocked her down, and covered her mouth to prevent her from crying for aid, injuring her face, chin, and head.
Officers discovered a suspicious vehicle linked to the crime, which had been involved in an incident with the Guardamar del Segura Local Police hours before the crime and fled during a security operation, thanks to the cooperation of several witnesses and the analysis of evidence gathered by investigators.
Following up on these indications led to the discovery of a group in the province of AlmerÃa engaged in property crimes. Investigators also discovered that one of the implicated individuals had been in prison since January due to similar charges.
House search
Officers conducted a residence search in Pulpà (AlmerÃa) and discovered robbery-related apparel and a handgun. The search and arrests were supported by the AlmerÃa Command’s Citizen Security Unit (USECIC).
The six accused, five men and one woman aged 22 to 48, were taken before the court and charged with membership to a criminal group, robbery with violence, and injuries. Three of them were held in custody, while the other three were freed on bail.
