Enrolment has opened at the Official Language School for the 2025/2026 academic year , which will end on July 4th. The EOI offers 6 language levels, ranging from basic (A2) to expert (C2), according to the director, head of studies, Adriana Valero, and Councillor for Education of the Torrevieja City Council, Ricardo Recuero.
Students who intend to study at the Official Language School next year must apply entirely online through the website www.eoitorrevieja.com.
For the 2025/2026 academic year, languages taught include German, English, French, Russian, Spanish for foreigners, and Valencian. There are 2,400 available seats. The EOI employs 26 teachers.
The EOI offers morning and afternoon lessons in nearly every language, and the centre opens at 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Students over 14 can enrol in any language except English. English students must be at least 16 years old.
The EOI’s head of studies and director encouraged young people to enrol in its languages, citing the fact that “Today, practically everyone speaks English, young people have the opportunity to learn other languages, and at the EOI, they have a wide range of options available to them.”
Spanish for Foreigners
Supply does not meet demand in several languages. This is the case with Spanish for Foreigners, which many Torrevieja inhabitants consider necessary to demonstrate their roots but which the Generalitat (Catalan government) deleted from part of its programmes last year. It is also insufficient for English. The regional government relocated some of this Spanish for foreigners instruction to adult education schools, forcing Torrevieja City Council to award a contract to a company to provide more seats.
