Last month, the Valencian Community’s Guardia Civil Traffic Unit hauled 275 drivers to court. The reason for the court appearances was that they were accused of committing traffic safety violations.
Of the total, 106 were for driving without a permit or license (of which 36 were for total loss of points, 11 for being provisionally deprived by a court decision, and 59 for never having obtained the permit or license), 151 for driving while intoxicated, 12 for reckless driving, 2 for speeding, and 4 for driving with drugs in the system.
In the province of Alicante, 35 drivers were prosecuted for driving without a permit or license, 51 for driving while intoxicated, one for speeding, and three for dangerous driving.
In Valencia, 53 drivers were prosecuted for driving without permission or a license, 83 for driving while intoxicated, one for speeding, nine for reckless driving, and four for driving with drugs in their system.
In Castellón, 18 drivers were prosecuted for driving without a permit or license, while 17 were prosecuted for driving under the influence of alcohol.
