According to sources familiar with the matter, the Guardia Civil is investigating the death of a woman whose body was discovered on Saturday afternoon, July 12th, in a vegetable garden area of Murcia, specifically in the town of Aljucer.
A resident of Aljucer discovered the body and notified police; an autopsy will determine the cause of death. The dead, a 77-year-old Spanish woman, has finally been identified.
Paramedics were summoned to the scene in an ambulance to confirm the fatality. They then notified the coroner and the on-duty judge, who both attended to the scene.
The body are now being transported to Murcia’s Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy to determine whether the woman died naturally, in an accident, or as a result of an assault.
Any death could be homicidal, purposeful, or accidental, but police sources say that under such circumstances, it is always considered a death under investigation. However, for the time being, the most frequently believed hypothesis is that the septuagenarian went for a walk and fell or contracted an illness or ailment that resulted in death.
They believe this hypothesis because, upon initial observation, the body appears to be free of any evidence of violence. However, a forensic examination will prove this.
SOS Missing Persons issued an alert on Saturday suggesting that they had been hunting for a 77-year-old resident since Friday, whom they regarded as vulnerable.
