The Regional Ministry of Health, through the Orihuela Health Department, will launch several measures this summer to strengthen healthcare infrastructure at several healthcare facilities, including the Vega Baja Hospital and the Orihuela Speciality Centre. This sequence of projects will cost more than €1.7 million.
Among the major projects are waterproofing the roofs and common areas of Vega Baja Hospital, which will cost €201,690, and rehabilitating the air conditioning system and low- and high-voltage panels at the speciality centre, which will cost €497,721. Both projects will start this summer.
The plumbing system in the hospital’s Paediatrics and Obstetrics departments will also be updated, at a cost of €99,942. The Speciality Centre’s lift will also be rebuilt, with the present one removed and a new one installed at a cost of €97,750.
In terms of medical equipment, five anaesthesia stations, commonly known as tables or towers, were purchased for the hospital’s Anaesthesia and Resuscitation Service. The investment for this deal is 331,390 euros.
Air conditioning units in Primary Care will be replaced at the Bigastro health Centre for a total of 106,089 euros.
On the other hand, a deal has been struck for the provision of endoscopic equipment for the Vega Baja Hospital’s specialised unit, with a total investment of more than €215,000. The contract for the adaptation and restoration of nurse stations and restrooms on the first and second floors of the hospital’s inpatient area has also been signed, totalling €192,390.
These investments demonstrate the Ministry of Health’s dedication to the continual improvement of healthcare facilities and the strengthening of the public healthcare system, which ensures excellent, safe, and efficient care for all citizens.
