On Tuesday, July 15th, the city of A Coruña received the EuroMillions Million. The winning ticket was validated at Receiving Office number 29,770 in the Galician town, which is located on Avenida Peruleiro, 10.
What was missing were top-tier winners, so the Eurojackpot was formed, and in the next draw on Friday the 18th, a single winner may win 111 million euros.
A hefty jackpot, however, is far below the $250 million won by a gambler on June 17th. On that occasion, the prize was awarded to Ireland, one of nine countries participating in the draw.
Millions of players hope to win Friday’s jackpot. If just one winner wins, they will receive 111 million, but they must pay taxes in accordance with the regulations of each country.
If a Spaniard wins the jackpot, they must pay the Tax Agency 20% of the winnings (excluding the first 40,000 euros). Thus, they will have to pay the Treasury little more than 22 million euros (22,192,000 euros), bringing the net prize to 88,808,000 euros (88 million euros).
In the instance of El Millón, the winner must pay the Treasury 192,000 euros, resulting in a final net prize of 808,000 euros.
