The Guardia Civil has established a new online reporting service, with the goal of allowing residents to file reports from anywhere, at any time, without having to visit a police station in person.
This new system, which is accessible through the Civil Guard’s online website https://web.guardiacivil.es/es/tramites/denuncias/denuncia-electronica/ , will allow residents with a digital signature to report small offences, such as theft, property damage, loss of documents or goods, and other instances that do not entail violence or threats. Once the report has been submitted electronically, the citizen must report it in person at the station they choose via the online process within 72 hours.
The goal of this technique is to streamline procedures, shorten wait times, and improve customer service. According to the Ministry of the Interior, the new reporting channel is part of the effort of digitalising and modernising the State’s security forces.
The Guardia Civil has improved its technology infrastructure to safeguard personal data security and the secrecy of information provided by whistleblowers. In addition, technical assistance and instruction will be provided via its website to help users use the new service effectively.
This breakthrough is a key step towards enhancing the link between residents and security forces, allowing for increased accessibility, efficiency, and institutional proximity.
