A fire broke out on Thursday afternoon, July 17th, at a restaurant on Calle Colón in Villajoyosa, mobilising the Provincial Fire Brigade from the Benidorm Fire Station, which was activated around 6:40 p.m.
A fire department vehicle, an urban fire engine, and a high-altitude rescue vehicle were dispatched to the scene. The Villajoyosa Local Police collaborated at all times, facilitating a quick and safe route for the emergency convoy and complying with joint action protocols.
Upon their arrival, the firefighters confirmed that the Local Police and Guardia Civil officers had already evacuated the occupants of the establishment and secured the perimeter, allowing access and positioning of the firefighting vehicles.
The fire, which started in the restaurant’s fryer area, was quickly brought under control thanks to the firefighters, who used a can of foam, a specific extinguishing agent for this type of fire. The firefighters subsequently installed positive pressure fans to extract the accumulated smoke inside the establishment.
