Torrevieja City Council’s Local Government Board accepted the contract file for draughting a project to build a heated swimming pool last Friday, following an open and routine procedure. The base tender budget for the contract is €87,499 (including VAT).
Sports Councillor Diana Box Alonso revealed that the second heated pool will be 25 meters long and 12.5 meters broad, serving as a warm-up pool and for aquatic activities. It will be placed in Sports City, behind the existing Olympic-sized pool and parking lot.

The project will establish direct contact between the current amenities, such as the pool, 7-a-side football pitches, and parking. The project also includes redesigning outdoor areas, with a focus on reorganising parking and existing landscaping.
Finally, it should be highlighted that the pool water must be heated with renewable energy sources, and the current boiler space must be shared by both pools. It must also include indoor stands or another feature that acts as a resting area for users rather than spectators.
