A 45-year-old man died yesterday, Wednesday July 23rd, after being dragged unconscious from the José Trenzano municipal swimming pool in Alcoy, Alicante.
The Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (Cicu) received notification of the event at 12:20 p.m. and dispatched a Samu and Basic Life Support (BLS) unit.
The lifeguards performed basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the man. When the Samu medical team arrived, they continued to administer advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other advanced life support treatments, but there was no response, and his death was confirmed.
According to Cicu sources, an autopsy will determine what caused the drowning.
