According to the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium, a traffic accident in Mutxamel, Alicante resulted in the death of a 33-year-old man and the severe injury of another individual on Saturday afternoon, July 26th.
The accident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on the Tangier-Mutxamel road, in the municipality of Mutxamel. Two vehicles collided head-on, and one of the drivers, a 33-year-old man, died instantly. The medical services dispatched to the scene were unable to save him.
Another man was travelling in the other vehicle involved, who was trapped inside and had to be freed by firefighters.
A command unit, a heavy urban fire department, and a rescue van participated in the response, with a total of eight personnel: a sergeant, a corporal, and six firefighters from the San Vicente fire station. The operation continued until 8:46 p.m.
