Seven individuals have been apprehended by the Guardia Civil on suspicion of stealing products valued at 70,000 euros from companies situated in industrial estates in the towns of Riba-roja del Turia (Valencia) and Crevillent (Alicante) with the intention of reselling them on the black market.
Operation “Pokvar” was implemented to eliminate this criminal organisation following a complaint of burglary and theft at numerous businesses in the Riba-roja industrial estate on May 21st. Three days later, a burglary was conducted in Crevillent using the butrón method, and another attempted robbery was also committed.
On May 30th, a patrol identified four individuals travelling in a vehicle that was transporting sausage, Arab perfumes, balaclavas, a kickstand and various tools, products sold by the companies affected by the robberies, according to sources from the Benemérita (Benemérita).
This material was associated with two of the burglaries, one at a sausage company in the Riba-roja industrial estate and another at an Arab colony company in the Crevillent industrial estate, according to the investigation.
The perfumes were valued at approximately 60,000 euros, while the stolen sausages were estimated to be worth approximately 3,500 euros. Furthermore, a stolen van and three batteries, each valued at approximately 1,000 euros, were discovered.
For these reasons, seven individuals were apprehended: six men between the ages of 22 and 31 and a 20-year-old woman. They are being accused of theft, burglary, larceny using a vehicle, and organised crime.
The Riba-roja del Turia Main Post officers conducted the investigation, and the proceedings were subsequently transferred to the LlÃria Court of First Instance and Investigation No. 6.
