This Sunday, August 3rd, Alicante will be one of the key stops of the 50-50-50 Project, a charity initiative that runs through all 50 Spanish provinces for 50 consecutive days, covering 50 kilometres a day for a significant cause: raising awareness of childhood cancer and raising funds for the Juegaterapia Foundation.
The star of this challenge is charity runner Sergio Turull, who will arrive in our city on the 43rd day of this feat. Starting at 8:30 a.m., participants will meet at Plaza del Arquitecto Miguel López, the starting point of a 5 km circuit that borders the port of Alicante. The challenge consists of completing 10 laps of the circuit, reaching a total of 50 km.
Anyone can join this event on any of the circuits, walking or running, in a festive and supportive atmosphere. In addition, thanks to the collaboration of Vitamin Well, participants will receive hydration throughout the morning.
The project’s goal is not only to run kilometres but also to raise funds through the Mi Grano de Arena platform, where donations are now available. All proceeds will go to supporting children undergoing cancer treatment through the Juegaterapia Foundation’s programs, which use play as a recovery tool.
“We want to raise awareness of a cause that needs everyone’s attention. Every stride is a gesture of support for the families who struggle every day,” says the project’s promoter.
The event also has the support of local organisations, and high citizen participation is expected. Alicante thus joins this solidarity movement that unites sport, social commitment, and hope.
