As a result of an operation that has resulted in the dismantling of two drug sales points in structures situated in the Virgen de la Caridad neighbourhood of Cartagena, the National Police have arrested six individuals, one of whom is a minor, in possession of 433 marijuana plants and over four kilograms of marijuana buds.
Two properties in the Virgen de la Caridad neighbourhood of Cartagena were the site of a National Police investigation to dismantle drug-selling black spots in the region. There was a consistent influx and movement of individuals using these substances.
These incidents have caused severe harm to the region’s residents and instilled a significant sense of insecurity. Additionally, there have been numerous complaints and reports regarding the strong odours and electrical failures caused by illicit connections that have saturated the general electricity supply network.
Officers were able to seize cocaine prepared for sale, over four kilograms of marijuana buds, and an indoor marijuana cultivation consisting of 433 plants after conducting a search of both properties in accordance with the appropriate judicial authorisation.
It was evident that numerous drug transactions occurred during school hours, as one of the dismantled structures was situated just a few meters from a public school.
The judicial authorities presented four of the six detainees to ensure they took the necessary precautions.
