The Guardia Civil has arrested a man in Dolores who stole a scooter from a home in San Fulgencio. The complainant, who had the electric vehicle monitoring app installed on his mobile phone, assisted in the arrest.
The Guardia Civil was notified by a resident of San Fulgencio that his electric scooter had been stolen from his residence. He installed the app on his mobile phone and provided all the necessary documentation to identify the scooter and its proprietor.
The citizen maintained communication with the officers in the days that followed the incident. Four days following the theft, he visited Dolores’s station and informed the officers that he believed he had located the scooter using the app.
The investigative officers promptly proceeded to the location designated by the device. The alleged perpetrator was apprehended as he was about to depart on the scooter, following a thorough investigation. The complainant’s prior documentation allowed investigators to confirm that the scooter in question was the one reported. These steps enabled the scooter to be seized and promptly returned to its legitimate owner.
A 25-year-old male was arrested for burglary and brought before the Investigating Court No. 2 of Orihuela.
The Guardia Civil attributed the successful resolution of the case to the victim’s cooperation, which included the provision of the requisite documentation to identify the object, the filing of the complaint as soon as the events occurred, and the installation of the device’s security systems.
