400 marijuana plants were discovered by Murcia Local Police officers in response to a complaint regarding a squatted residence in the municipality.
The municipality of Torreagüera was the setting. Officers from Beniaján and Alquerías arrived at the property, entered, and discovered a facility that was completely equipped for cannabis cultivation. Police confiscated over four hundred marijuana plants from the residence.
The municipal authorities discovered specialised growing apparatus, including ventilation systems and halogen lamps, in addition to the plants. A greenhouse, which is entirely verdant.
When the police arrived, no one was present at the residence. It is likely that the individuals responsible for the illegal greenhouse will be investigated for offences against public health, electricity fraud, and trespassing upon their discovery.
The force declares that proceedings are currently underway, and a report will be submitted to the Guardia Civil.
According to police sources, it is frequent in the municipality (as is the case in other regions of Spain) for vacant residences to be converted into marijuana plantations. And this is not a novel concept. Over a decade ago, a gang was apprehended in the area for squatting in apartments in order to install marijuana greenhouses.
