A woman in Torre Pacheco has been apprehended by the Guardia Civil on suspicion of being responsible for the offences of burglary, robbery with violence and intimidation, theft, and fraud. The detainee was not a resident of the municipality; rather, she was residing with individuals who were associated with criminal activity.
The Guardia Civil has successfully resolved a dozen crimes and recovered a portion of the stolen property, which has since been returned to its legitimate owners, during the ongoing investigation.
The operation commenced a few months ago when the Guardia Civil’s Citizen Security Prevention Unit identified a rise in robberies in the municipality, some of which involved violence against the victims. This had caused a degree of social unrest.
The Guardia Civil was monitoring the perpetrator of numerous burglaries that had been committed in homes and vehicles at the outset of the investigation. In order to ascertain the perpetrator’s identity and the method of the crime, they conducted technical examinations and other enquiries.
Officers from the Guardia Civil identified a woman who was purportedly responsible for the crimes under investigation as the investigation progressed. A significant number of stolen items, such as golf clubs, technology, bicycles, and an electric scooter, were recovered shortly thereafter and have since been returned to their legitimate owners.
The primary line of inquiry into the suspect was established by Guardia Civil specialists from the Investigation Department. This allowed them to ascertain that she did not reside in the Pacheco municipality, but rather was an individual with no connection to the town.
While the final steps were being taken to close the investigation and locate the woman, the Guardia Civil officers confirmed that she had radically changed her modus operandi, becoming very violent in the commission of crimes. She assaulted elderly people, especially those with limited mobility, using blunt or sharp objects.
During a struggle to steal five euros, she managed to penetrate the home of an octogenarian, brandishing a screwdriver and attempting to reach the victim. She ultimately succeeded in injuring the victim and a neighbour, who, upon hearing the disturbance, rendered assistance to the elderly man.
In another of the solved crimes, a woman unexpectedly pushed a man over the age of 70 as he was leaving his home. The man was thrown to the ground between two vehicles, resulting in injuries to his hands, face, and legs. The woman did not utter a word. An amount of money was stolen by the perpetrator, who then fled the location.
After the robberies, the current detainee did not hesitate to use any bank cards belonging to her victims that were among the booty to make purchases at a variety of businesses in the area.
The Guardia Civil initiated a search operation for the suspect after obtaining all the requisite evidence, which ultimately resulted in her arrest and location.
