Four members of the same family have been arrested on suspicion of assaulting, insulting, and menacing two Rojales Local Police officers.
The four individuals who were arrested were transported to the Guardia Barracks barracks for the alleged offences of assaulting law enforcement officers, disobedience, resistance, and death threats.
A neighbour contacted the Local Police to report that she was unable to exit her home due to a vehicle situated on the pavement in front of her front door. The elderly individual, who relied on a walker, was unable to move due to the space constraints.
The patrol arrived at the location and confirmed the accuracy of the information. The officers discovered that the vehicle’s proprietor was a resident of the vicinity prior to filing a report and towing it.
One of the officers decided to issue a warning to him to remove the vehicle in order to prevent the need for a tow truck. Nevertheless, the municipal council issued a statement stating that the car owner responded “rudely.”
The individual became agitated, lost control, uttered “absurd” obscenities to the officers, and attempted to intimidate them with “death threats” when he was advised that the vehicle’s ITV had expired in 2022 and that he should be fined for the violation.
The statement also stated that the actions of this neighbour incited some of his family members to attack the officers and attempt to “steal the personal camera so that there would be no record of what happened.”
In light of the circumstances, the officers sought assistance from the local police in Benijófar, Formentera del Segura, and Daya Vieja, as well as Guardia Civil units from Almoradà and Dolores. Subsequently, four members of the same family were apprehended.
