A mechanic’s store in the Los Ángeles neighbourhood of Alicante was the site of a significant fire that erupted this afternoon. Firefighters have successfully suppressed the blaze. According to police sources, one individual was treated for smoke inhalation after sustaining injuries to his arm while attempting to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher.
Several units from the Fire Prevention, Extinction and Rescue Service (SPEIS), as well as an ambulance and personnel from the National Police and Local Police of Alicante, responded to the fire shortly before 7:30 p.m last night, Monday August 11th. The 112 emergency services were notified of the incident.
The building itself does not appear to have incurred any damage, despite the fact that the fire generated a large cloud of black smoke that rose up the facade to the upper floors of the building.
The individual who sustained burns has been treated by an ambulance that was dispatched to the scene, and neighbours from the neighbourhood have been observing the firefighting efforts from the street.
