Prisoner kills his cellmate with a tuna can lid in Murcia prison

At the Murcia I penitentiary, situated in the Murcia district of Sangonera la Verde, a prisoner murdered his cellmate early this morning using the lid of a tuna can.

The prison officer notified the relevant authorities after raising the alarm. A cell was occupied by the two Moroccan nationals, who were both inmates in the “quietest” department of the prison.

The isolation ward of the prison is where the alleged perpetrator of the offence is being held. The Guardia Civil and Penitentiary Institutions have assumed the investigation.
