The flames in a fire that erupted in a laundromat on Calle Moncayo in the Los Altos neighbourhood, south of Torrevieja, have been contained by Torrevieja firefighters, with the assistance of the local authorities.
Today, Wednesday August 13th, shortly after 8 a.m., a fire occurred in a ground-floor store situated at 3 Calle Moncayo, within the retail space of the “Los Altos” shopping centre.
The Local Police were able to locate the owner, who facilitated the opening and access to the establishment, as per the information provided by the Fire Department Consortium.
The Provincial Consortium’s sources emphasised that the fire was prevented from spreading to the machinery and numerous sacks of clothing by a swift and coordinated response that identified the source of the fire on a shelf in a corner of the premises.
Six firefighters and all available firefighters from the Torrevieja fire station were dispatched to the fire site, and the operation was successfully concluded shortly after 9:15 a.m.
