A traffic accident on the N-332, approximately eight metres from the junction with the AP-7, near the municipality of Altea (Alicante), resulted in the rescue of two citizens.
The two occupants of the crashed car were trapped inside when it caught fire following a severe collision with another vehicle. Thanks to the public’s prompt assistance, they were urgently extracted from the blazing vehicle’s interior.
The Traffic Police, the Altea Local Police, several SVB and SAMU ambulances, and the Valencian Regional Government’s Alpha 9 Medical Helicopter were dispatched to the scene after the alert was received at approximately 7:52 p.m., according to the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU).
A headquarters command unit (UMJ), a heavy urban fire department (BUP), and a rescue van (FSV) were also mobilised, in addition to a sergeant, a corporal, and seven firefighters from the Benidorm fire station (Alicante).

The Alpha 9 Helicopter was used to transport the injured individual to Alicante General Hospital as a result of the severity of the injury sustained by one of the individuals involved in the accident.
In the interim, the flames from the burning vehicle rapidly expanded throughout the vegetation on a plot of land, affecting numerous pine trees in the vicinity.
