Awaiting the postmortem
The remains were transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Murcia for an autopsy to verify the cause of death. Police sources emphasised that it is crucial to determine the trajectory of the weapon, despite the discovery of the gunshot wound.
The same sources also noted that it is not uncommon for a handgun to be involved in an accident if it is handled inadequately.
The predominant hypothesis is that the individual was operating the weapon without being aware of the cartridge’s presence in the chamber, pending the coroner’s report.
