An individual in Gandia has been arrested by National Police officers for utilising a grow shop to sell marijuana and hashish. A total of nearly nine kilogrammes of marijuana and over 200 grammes of hashish, which were packaged for sale in heat-sealed pouches, were confiscated.
The police initiated an investigation after discovering that narcotics were being sold for consumption in a grow shop located in an industrial facility in the town of Gandia. The officers also confirmed that the activity was advertised on the shop’s door and that narcotics were being sold from a vending machine situated near the entrance.
A significant number of customers were observed entering the premises to purchase narcotics for consumption after the initial surveillance was conducted.
Following their departure from the store, a few consumers rolled joint cigarettes
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that certain customers would immediately open the product they had purchased and roll a joint to consume as soon as they exited the store.
A total of 511 heat-sealed bags containing nearly nine kilogrammes of marijuana, as well as 17 bags containing 232 grammes of hashish, were seized by police during an inspection of the premises on August 6th. The operation concluded with this step.
A man was apprehended and brought before the judicial authorities as the putative perpetrator of a crime against public health in connection with these events.
What is a “grow shop”?
A grow shop is a retail establishment that specialises in the sale and consultation of cannabis cultivation-related products, including greenhouses, fertilisers, and illumination.
In contrast to clubs, grow shops do not directly sell cannabis, and the products they provide are lawful.
