In the town of Orihuela (Alicante), the National Police have arrested three males, aged 31 to 38, on suspicion of burglary, and belonging to a criminal organisation. The detainees committed a burglary at a residence located in the central area of Orihuela town while the proprietor was shopping at a nearby shopping centre. The perpetrators pursued the victim and, after cloning the keypad to gain access to his vehicle, seized the house keys and committed the robbery, according to the police investigation.
Prompt police intervention
The investigation was initiated in response to a complaint submitted by the property proprietor. He stated that he had departed his residence in his vehicle to purchase at a shopping centre. Upon his return, he discovered that his home had been burgled.
Upon his arrival at his residence, the victim was unable to locate his keys and subsequently returned to the retail centre, believing that he had left them in the car park. He received an alert from the alarm centre on his journey, informing him of a burglary at his residence.
A police unit and the owner verified the theft of numerous watches and jewels, all of which were of high monetary value, upon their immediate arrival at the scene.
It was determined that the alleged perpetrators acted in an organised manner and with a clear division of responsibilities after several investigations by officers. The victim was initially pursued from his residence to the retail centre. They entered the interior by replicating the keypad with the assistance of a sophisticated code recorder after she parked and abandoned the vehicle. The suspects stole the house keys from the car’s passenger compartment and subsequently entered the home to perpetrate the robbery while the owner was shopping.
A specific area of the town was surrounded and the vehicle used by the perpetrators was located in less than 24 hours, with all the information garnered and the collaboration of citizen security patrols. They were arrested as they exited their residence, and the duty court was contacted to request a search warrant.
All of the taken items were retrieved
The jewellery that was stolen from the victim’s residence, as well as a device for cloning vehicle remote control frequencies, were among the items that officers seized after searching the house.
The three detainees have been taken before the Orihuela investigating court as a result of police investigations.
