Following a mass altercation that occurred in the Cerro Matadero area of Berja one individual has passed away from stab wounds, while five others have sustained injuries of varying severity.
Several callers reported a struggle on Calle El Romero according to sources from the Guardia Civil, the Government Subdelegation, and the unified emergency service 112 Andalusia.
In this regard, the Guardia Civil, Local Police, and medical personnel were mobilised as a result of the alerters’ report of a man with a substantial puncture wound. The operations confirmed the death of one individual and recorded five injuries of varying severity, with at least two of them being transported to the hospital.
According to municipal sources, an investigation is currently ongoing to apprehend the perpetrator of the crime, whose whereabouts have been determined by witnesses.
A “tense calm” has ensued in the vicinity of the brawl site, where the Guardia Civil and Local Police are conducting surveillance. At approximately 8:05 a.m., a fire broke out in a home that was initially believed to be unoccupied.
The Poniente Fire Department has dispatched to the home situated near Calle El Fuerte , which is in close proximity to the Berja Courthouse, according to sources from 112. Additionally, the Civil Guard, medical personnel, Civil Protection, and local police have been informed.
