The Guardia Civil arrested a 35-year-old man and woman in the municipality of Pinoso on charges of drug trafficking, marijuana cultivation, and electricity theft. The Court of First Instance of Novelda (Alicante) has ordered their provisional detention.
The investigation commenced at the Guardia Civil station following the discovery that drug sales were occurring in close proximity to a residence.
In order to apprehend and identify the purported perpetrators, Operation Belai was initiated. The residence from which the alleged sales were conducted, as well as its residents, were identified by the officers during the initial phase.
In a statement, the Guardia Civil verified the existence of an illegal electricity connection concealed in the roof of the house during the surveillance, which further fuelled suspicions of illicit activity.
Officers from the Sax Police Station’s Investigation Area and the Citizen Security Unit of the Alicante Police Command participated in a house search after a sufficient amount of evidence was collected.

Officers confiscated 35.7 grammes of cocaine, 31 marijuana plants, 528 grammes of marijuana buds, 1,925 grammes of chopped marijuana, materials for weighing and handling the narcotics, €140 in cash, four air guns, and an electric scooter from the residence. Additionally, they confiscated specific documentation that contained drug sales records, which are presently being examined by law enforcement.
The man and woman have both been detained for alleged public health crimes and electricity fraud, and they have prior records of property crimes.
