Denia Hospital has been granted university hospital certification by the Ministry of Health, which will allow it to enhance its training of new healthcare professionals, engage in medical research, and collaborate with academic institutions and universities.
The Regional Ministry hereby certifies that the Dianense centre satisfies the infrastructure, resource, and personnel requirements established by current regulations in order to conduct university teaching in the healthcare sector.
Denia Hospital has satisfied the criteria established by national and regional legislation to achieve this status. These criteria include the presence of staff with accredited teaching skills for the practical training of students, the necessary infrastructure for teaching and research, and participation in programs for the improvement of healthcare quality and innovation.
Denia Hospital has been accredited for the training of specialists in a variety of medical and nursing fields. It has previously offered resident and internship positions in Family and Community Medicine, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, and Paediatrics, as well as resident positions in Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation, Internal Medicine, and General Surgery.
Through educational agreements with the Ministry of Health, it also provides internships for students in high school, university, and vocational training.
As part of its dedication to enhancing healthcare, it encourages the advancement of scientific research. It maintains a research committee that renders methodological assistance and offers guidance on scientific matters. It also facilitates the fulfilment of doctoral theses among its professionals and encourages the publication of articles in scientific journals.
Integration into the ASI Alicante Norte Denia Hospital, along with San Joan Hospital and Marina Baixa Hospital, is a member of the Alicante North Interdepartmental Health Group (ASI Alicante Norte). This enables the development of synergies in the administration of processes across various centres and promotes collaboration in fields such as healthcare, research, education, and training.
