Torrevieja Guardia Civil personnel discovered the likely presence of many robbers in villas due to the absence of the owners while conducting crime prevention services in the municipality.
The inquiry was launched following a report of a burglary at a home in Orihuela Costa. Officers initiated a search operation thanks to communication between units, allowing them to intercept the suspects within minutes of the incident and retrieve some of the stolen items.
Luxury residence
After the criminals were apprehended, a search of their luxurious property in Torrevieja yielded all of the stolen jewellery and technological equipment. These artefacts were valued at €15,000. Tools used in the crimes were discovered, as well as proof of drug trade. 1,189 MDMA tablets totalling 452.14 g were recovered from the home, along with 1.420 kg of marijuana buds, scales, and materials for sale and distribution.
The inmates, two men aged 27 and 38, were taken before Torrevieja’s 4th Court of Instruction, which sentenced them to prison. They are charged with burglary of an inhabited residence and another offence against public health for drug trafficking.
