As part of operations to curb unauthorised street vending on the el Paseo Tenista David Ferrer facing l’Arenal beach, the Javea Local Police seized a number of counterfeit merchandise, including bags, sneakers and T-shirts. The operation resulted in the confiscation of over 1,000 counterfeit sportswear goods intended for sale on the promenade.
According to a municipality’s statement, this outcome was obtained “thanks to the monitoring and professional work of police personnel over months, locating and identifying the individuals involved in the illegal street sale of counterfeit goods, as well as the vehicles they use to transport and store the merchandise before it is distributed in the area of ​​the David Ferrer Tennis Court.”
A local police patrol discovered one of the vehicles identified throughout the inquiry entering the Arenal region. It was said to be used to store products for future distribution.

When the vehicle was stop, investigators discovered a considerable number of bags inside, all containing counterfeit sportswear. These bags were seized as criminal evidence in the investigation of different industrial property offences.
At the police station, the seized products were counted, yielding a total of 1,010 athletic items from eight different brands.
