According to the booking website Holidu, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport is the third best-rated airport in Spain.
As the summer comes to a close, Holidu has aggregated thousands of traveler evaluations and comments on Google Maps to develop a ranking of the best airports that stand out for their exceptional service.
The highest-ranked airport is El Hierro Airport (VDE) in the Canary Islands. “This picturesque island airport not only remains at the forefront with an unwavering score of 4.5 year after year and 720 reviews, but also symbolises the dedication to providing a personalised and welcoming experience,” according to the homepage.
The next stop is La Gomera Airport (GMZ), also in the Canary Islands. “Serving one of the most beautiful islands in the Canary Islands, this airport is an essential stop for tourists wishing to discover the region’s natural and cultural treasures. “With a prestigious rating of 4.5 and 411 reviews, it stands out for its simplicity and efficiency,” they remark.
In terms of Alicante’s infrastructure, they emphasise its “notable rise from a position that has allowed it to reach the podium.”
It has gained this place by enhanced service, as seen by the same 4.3 rating but now accompanied by 22,808 reviews, “a remarkably high figure that propels it forward.”

All of this has been significantly facilitated by recent improvements that have increased capacity and enhanced infrastructure.
Holidu emphasises the construction of contemporary security monitoring systems as well as the creation of more accessible and comfortable boarding places that include all necessary services.
“Furthermore, its extensive route offering makes Alicante-Elche Airport an ideal choice for those looking to visit the Costa Blanca,” the authors say.
