The Alicante TRAM will provide free service all day on September 22nd to commemorate Car-Free Day. The effort is part of European Mobility Week and the “Transport Unites” campaign, which promotes sustainable travel.
Encourage public transit on a daily basis
“The goal is to promote mobility habits for the whole of society throughout the year, not just this week,” says Minister Vicente MartÃnez Mus, emphasising the system’s inclusive nature under the European slogan “Mobility for all.”
Regional network and current background
The free service on September 22nd includes Metrovalencia, Castelló TRAM, and Metrobús. The advertisement emphasises the significance of public transit as a unifying force, particularly in the aftermath of the 29th October floods, which impacted infrastructure and services throughout the Valencian Community.
Discounts and freebies remain
Children under the age of 14 and residents of flood-affected communities continue to be eligible for free travel. Other users receive a 40% discount on season tickets and multi-ride passes, while those under 31 earn up to 50% off monthly passes with Móbilis 30.
