A 27-year-old man was detained for vandalising a Local Police officer’s private car at the Banyeres de Mariola police station in Alicante in retaliation for reporting him.
The Guardia Civil arrested the individual after determining that he was guilty for inflicting damage to the vehicle worth more than three thousand euros.
With a heavy stone, he scratched the entire body, smashed numerous windows, and hit various car components.
The primary possibility being investigated by investigators is that the alleged perpetrator committed this act in revenge after being reported for an administrative offence. He is now accused of two offences and faces the possibility of conviction.
A few days ago, a Local Police officer interfered with the alleged perpetrator, and the officer denounced him for violating Law 5/2015 on the Protection of Citizen Security.
That same day, taking advantage of the fact that the Local Police headquarters were closed to the public and the patrol car was on duty distant from the police station, the suspected perpetrator entered the barracks parking lot without being caught, avoiding the barrier.
Once entering, he looked for the cop’s vehicle, which was inside the official grounds, in a reserved location, alongside those of other colleagues, while the officer was reacting to an issue away from the scene.
When the officer proceeded to get into his vehicle, he was horrified to find it wrecked by someone who had attacked it “in what appeared to be an act of revenge.”
According to the Guardia Civil, the officer filed a complaint with the themselves.
According to the report, another complaint was submitted for a break-in at a public place, which involved evading security measures while the Local Police Station was closed to the public and accessing areas of the premises intended for the private use of on-duty personnel.
The investigation led to the suspect’s identification and arrest on September 4th.
The Banyeres de Mariola resident appeared before Alcoy’s Investigating Court No. 2, which ordered his release on bail until a final trial for his role in the event.
