According to Dénia Hospital authorities, the driver of one of the four cars involved in the multiple accident, which occurred late Sunday, September 21st, near the N-332 bypass exit in Benissa, died last night after arriving at the hospital.
The 56-year-old man, who sustained multiple injuries in the crash, went into cardiac arrest in the ambulance that was transporting him and was unable to recover despite medical personnel’s efforts.
The deceased’s car was one of those that suffered the most damage in the crash. The victim’s two children, a 13-year-old girl with various injuries and a 12-year-old boy with bruises, were also in the car and are still hospitalised, under monitoring, and in stable condition.

Two additional males, aged 25 and 21, who were in another car, are now in Marina Alta Hospital with bruises and the same prognosis.
Six individuals were injured in the accident, which occurred when two automobiles hit head on (one carrying the dead and his children) and the other two collided rear-end on the aforementioned route.
