A Santa Pola Local Police officer was hurt with a triple leg fracture while attempting to arrest a man accused of gender-based assault. During the arrest, the attacker became violent, but he was eventually overpowered and taken into police custody.
The incident occurred during a Santa Pola Local Police operation in which officers reacted to a report of domestic abuse. During the struggle, one of the officers had a major injury, resulting in a fractured leg in three places that necessitated rapid medical attention.
Despite the attacker’s severe aggression, police intervened to protect the victim and apprehend the perpetrator, who was subsequently taken into custody for further investigation.
The injured officer is undergoing medical treatment, and the detainee appeared in court yesterday, Wednesday September 24th.
