The Pilar de la Horadada City Council is undertaking a campaign to identify dogs and cats, as well as to neuter and spay their own pets. Pets with owners will be identified by a microchip, passport, and rabies vaccination, while cats will be spayed or neutered.
The major goal of this campaign is to create awareness about the importance of this activity, which, according to Elisabet Marcos, Councillor for Animal Protection, “provides safety and protection for both pets and owners, facilitates health checks, and helps recover animals if they are lost.”
The City Council has struck an agreement with the municipality’s veterinary clinics to provide these services, with the purpose of encouraging “responsible pet ownership among owners residing in Pilar de la Horadada, as well as their protection and advocacy,” according to Marcos. The campaign will run from now until December 1st, or until the funding allocation is depleted.

The following veterinary clinics offer services: Southeast Veterinary Clinic, El Pilar Veterinary Clinic, Pelo, Pico, Pata Veterinary Clinic, and Moby Dick Veterinary Clinic.
