The trial of three people begins today. They are accused of utilising a business arrangement to avoid paying the required advertising costs for bus shelters in the municipality of Sant Joan d’Alacant, inflicting significant financial damage to the City Council.
A married couple and another man are being tried, accused of using a corporate structure to avoid paying the fee corresponding to the advertising exploitation of the bus shelters and other public places of Sant Joan de Alacant between 2012 and 2018, resulting in a serious financial loss to the local City Council of more than 1,200,000 euros, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
The prosecution is originally seeking an 11-year prison sentence for each of the defendants for fraud and obstruction of execution.
