Officers from the Guardia Civil are looking into a violent robbery that happened on a Calle Pedro Lorca in the municipality of Torrevieja, Alicante. According to Guardia Civil sources, the victim, a 31-year-old man, was hurt and died after being taken to the hospital.
According to the same sources, the robbery happened last Friday, October 3rd, at about 4:00 a.m. A group of young people in a car stopped to ask for directions at that moment, according to posts on social media. The deceased took out his mobile phone to check it, a moment used by one of the occupants of the car to snatch his iPhone. The victim resisted the robbery and was violently dragged and run over by the car.
The Guardia Civil said that the victim had treatment “because of the violence he suffered during the robbery” and was subsequently taken to the Torrevieja General University Hospital.
Yesterday, Tuesday, it was revealed that the 31-year-old Swedish man had died. The Torrevieja Territorial Judicial Police Team of the Guardia Civil is looking into the event to find out what happened.
